I Draw Comics Kickstarter by RyanStegman

If you are interested in drawing comics but need to know how, we've created a book for you.

I know there are plenty of books out there that help you learn to draw comics, but with this one we've created a book that you can actually draw in and put to practice the lessons you've learned. We give you blue line templates to work over.

I contend that if you complete all the exercises in this "workbook", you will be a better artist, and hopefully be able to start working on your own comics.

Check out the kickstarter, where you can buy the book here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/b…

You can also find out more at idrawcomics.net.

And finally, an interview with Matt Marrocco and I, the creators of the book: ifanboy.com/articles/interview…

Thanks guys!

  • Reading: Amazing Spider-Man
  • Drinking: coffee

Wow. I thought about this idea as well during the start of 2012. Looks like you beaten me to it. (It would of took me 4-5 years to get it done anyway.)

Congrats on the Kickstarter. Too bad I missed it. I'm gonna pre-order it in your website anyway.

Ever since I picked back up on reading The Amazing Spider-Man I was hooked again. I never realized as a kid just how marvelous the story really was and yes, I made a Marvel pun just now. I do think this would be a really wonderful tool and I'll definitely be picking up a copy, but I also believe that just instructing on how to draw comic books is not enough for some artists. I think that any artist wanting to draw comic books should practice life drawing daily in order to get a grasp on good anatomy. Are you one of the artists for the newer issues of Spider-Man, by the way? I'm only on issue 251 of the Amazing Spider-Man currently, so I'm familiar with John Romita, both jr. and senior and I admire every bit of the old and new style of Spider-Man. The twisting forms, the graceful curvature, the energetic figures and the musculature must have taken years of practice to accomplish. Give Stan my best for creating such a wonderful series and I hope to see 600 more issues of Spider-Man!
